Dakota florals are all about symmetry. Back in the day, you used to be able to differentiate which tribe someone belonged to, all by the florals and designs they wore. Even amongst Dakotas certain designs would represent which family you came from. Now people design what they like and it’s all mixed.
I study local plants, and flowers, even old Dakota florals from back in the day. I’m still learning but I want to be able to design them the right way. I’m always open to helpful criticism.
