Originally I made these designs just for myself to have. As a girl growing up me and everyone I knew loved “Brats”. Now online I see so many people “indigenise” certain franchises. I’ve seen native anime characters, cartoons, etc. I wanted to see brats but I couldn't find any.
So I put my skills to work and made these 5 designs. I sat on them for about 6-8 months before I even showed anyone. One of the first I showed was my sister, she became obsessed with them and encouraged me to upload them, somewhere anywhere people could see them.
I didn’t think they would become as popular as they did. It all just started out because I wanted to see rez girls as “brats”. I wanted us indigenous girls to feel seen and relate to it.
This design specifically I wanted to see a city girl native. The ones who wear Pendleton coats, high fashion, and expensive jewelry. While they run around the city doing errands or attending important places.
